I read cracks in concrete as messages from the planet, a signal that nature — paved over — is re-asserting itself, synthesizing beauty in near-impossible circumstances. These images, captured starting in 2012 with whatever camera was in my pocket at the time, document repeating patterns around the world — a few simply show nature free to express these patterns unconstrained, or reveal human activity accidentally pulling off something interesting.
